Hey welcome to my website! My name is Holdy Civil and I’m a Visual Artist, Motion Graphics Designer and Character Designer. My hobbies outside of art include reading, hanging out with friends and family, playing sports and going to the gym. HC’s Collection is not just a brand or site name, but a representation of my creative versatility. You will find a variety of quality designs, products and projects that coincide with my vision and purpose.

PLANNING: ‘Depending on the project, planning can involve mood boards, references and taking notes.’

EXECUTION: ‘When I execute, I like to add my own style and aesthetic. I want my work to be the best it could be.’

Why Did You Choose Graphic Design?
I’ve always had a passion for art since I was seven. I started taking art more serious when I attended Rockland Community College. I first majored in Graphic Design Visual Communication. I fell in love with digital art and from then on majored in Animation.
What Software Are You Proficient In?
I’m proficient in both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. A few other software and apps I’ve worked in include: Adobe Indesign for digital layouts, Maya for 3D Modeling, Unity and Dreamwaver for Game Design, Aftereffects for Motion Graphics and Adobe Animate for Animation.
What Are your Favorite and Least Favorite Aspects of Being a Designer?
My favorite aspects of being a designer is the creating process itself: seeking inspiration and new ideas, and translating it to your work. My least favorite is getting creator’s block. It doesn’t happen a lot, but I hate when it does!
What Are Your Strengths and Weaknesses As a Designer?
My strengths as a designer include my work ethic, discipline and consistency. My weaknesses are self doubt, being a perfectionist and comparison, which can limit my creative potential.
What Motivates You As a Designer?
My motivation is simply my purpose and calling, along with my knowledge and experience in art history. I’m always driven to create every opportunity I get. I want to make the most of my skills and talent.
Where Do You See Yourself In The Next Few Years?
I see myself having a successful career in content creation with my art. I also want this website to garner some success as well. I believe you should profit off the work you put into your craft. Being able to monetize my work is the dream!
